The Best Strategy For Losing Stubborn Abdominal Fat

, the topic of abdominal muscles is a popular one! When I talk about your abdominal muscles, I'm talking about your "abs", your midsection, your core. Lot's of nicknames that all point to the same area of our bodies - our torso.
Did you realize that the best way to lose fat in your midsection and get flatter abs is NOT abs exercises? It's not crunches, sit-ups, or the multitude of abs machines and gimmicks on the market. In fact, these are actually the least effective methods for getting leaner, flatter abs!
The best ways to have a nicer, healthier looking midsection are to:
1)decrease toxicity
2)burn more fat
3)and finally, add toning abs exercises for the 'icing effect'
Reducing toxic choices in what you're eating (as well as how you're moving and how you're thinking) will give your brain less reason to initiate the physiologic stress response cycle. This means there's less reason for your body to pump out stress hormones, like cortisol. It's excess and imbalanced levels of cortisol that causes us to gain more fat in our midsection and have a difficult time shedding it.
You can do crunches and sit-ups until you're blue in the face, but if you keep making toxic choices, you'll keep carrying toxic fat in your midsection! That's the nature of the stress response cycle. Unless we remove the toxic trigger, excess cortisol, in particular, causes us to crave more fat and more sugar in an ongoing attempt to make more stress hormones in order to adapt to the stressful environment we keep creating! Talk about a vicious cycle!
Regarding fat burning, the "right" type of work outs will ensure your success in this area. Work outs that incorporate bursts of higher intensity followed by short recovery periods will help you burn the most fat. In the case of resistance training, full body work outs with global/functional/multi-joint moves will help you achieve these results the fastest.
Many of these "big" global, multi-joint moves in this type of work out require you to work your core muscles for balance and posture, therefore helping you carve out a nice, lean torso. Great examples are variations of squats, lunges, push-ups and pull-ups.
The exercises that are specific to your abs muscles will only show visible signs of success when you shed some of the excess fat that has been hiding your abs in the first place! We were all blessed with 6-pack abs - some of us just hide them better than others!
So, don't waste your precious time and energy on countless abs exercises. Instead, invest your time in making wise, time-efficient choices that will make you a fat-burning machine!
