The Blackberry Torch 9810 Offers Simple Viewing Of Photographs
Previously we took a look a look at camera facilities present on the new Blackberry Torch 9810 an we were very impressed with the results
. This time we want to look a little closer at how you view your material on this phone and also take a look at the excellent music player that is on offer.
Despite offering the very latest version of the Blackberry operating system the photo gallery has not changed since version 6.0 of the platform. This means that anybody who has used a Blackberry device before will be familiar with the grid layout of the interface. There is an option to switch this view to a list format but we feel that the grid not only looks neater but it also gives you an overview of more photographs at a single glance. The models features an accelerometer chip meaning that you photographs will automatically rotate if you turn the phone into landscape mode but we did notice a slight delay in this function. Thanks to this model being one of the very few Blackberry devices that offers a touchscreen users can make full use of features such as "pinch to zoom". This enables you to simply draw your fingers closer together when viewing a photograph to zoom in on the image. This proves a much more precise method than the traditional double tap that is used on many older devices. If you hold your finger on a particular image you are also given further options that enable you to share the photograph. A shortcut appears that can attach the shot to an email or send it as an MMS message and there are also options for copying and renaming the photograph. Even when the phone is loaded with hundreds of snaps we found browsing through them a very speedy experience that added to the appeal of this excellent model.
The Blackberry Torch 9810 features a great music player that effectively turns your handset into a portable music player. Just like the photo gallery the player offers a simple and very easy to use interface. When you first access the player you are presented with a screen which allows you to choose how you want to view your music. You can sort your tracks by artist, genre or album or simply choose to have all songs listed in alphabetical order. Once you have selected one of these options your song titles appear in a list complete with the relevant album artwork. If you want to change the sound settings on the phone there are a number of presets available and you have the option of having the music play in the background whilst you perform another task on the device. The phone features a 3.5mm headphone jack which means that you can use headphones of your choice although there is a set supplied in the box.
The Blackberry Torch 9810 really does offer a complete multi media package. The photo gallery is both easy to use and incredibly fast whilst the music player lets you enjoy thousands of your favourite tracks in great quality.
