The Body's Crystal Matrix - Part One
The matrix is mainly comprised of two special types of crystals known as piezo and liquid crystals. What they are and how they work will be covered in this two-part article series.
Piezo crystals reside in the bones, intestines, teeth, and in the collagen arrays of connective tissue such as ligaments, tendons and cartilage. They convert mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa. Whenever these physical tissue components are stressed due to activity, the crystals are compressed into a deformed shape. When the stress is released, the crystal rebounds to its natural size. The deformation of the crystal shifts its positive and negative charge centers, thus creating an external electric field. This is known as piezoelectricity. The strength of the field generated is directly proportional to the amount of stress put on the crystal. Following are familiar examples of how these crystals are employed in other mechanisms.
Phonograph needles and electric guitars contain piezo crystals. Phonograph needles bob up and down slightly as they follow the hills and valleys of a vinyl record track. This tiny vertical motion is converted into electrical energy and is then amplified many times by the stereo system before reaching the listener's ears. In electric guitars, six piezo crystals are placed in an array just under each string. When a string is sounded, the resulting sonic energy wave strikes the nearest piezo crystal lying under it and deforms its shape in proportion to the back and forth motion of the sound wave the strummed string creates. The crystal then converts the mechanical motion of the sound wave into electrical energy, which again is amplified many times before reaching the listener's ears.
Every time you take a step, the bones and connective tissues in your legs become compressed, which deforms the piezo crystals in those areas. This allows the bone to act as a force sensor, signaling the body to strengthen the bone by building up bone mass in that area. Weight-bearing exercise provides the necessary stress force on bones to keep them healthy and strong by generating piezoelectricity. Since the 1950s, this has been a major area of study in rapid bone healing techniques.
Piezo crystals work in the reverse as well. When they are exposed to electric energy, they expand, contract or deform in some way, thus converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. This is the process they provide in the intestinal area. Electric nerve impulses strike the crystals, which then change shape. Coordinated nerve impulses cause the crystals to force matter through the intestinal tract by this synchronistic motion.
In his book, Energy Medicine - The Scientific Basis, Dr. James L. Oschman states that when a person moves, tension sets up within the fabric of the body. This changes the length of the molecular antennas of the myofascial (soft tissue) system, therefore changing its resonant frequencies. Movements into ritual body postures such as yoga and Tai Chi combine these molecular antenna changes in a harmonious way and affect the resonate frequency of the whole body antenna. Oschman also sited a 1995 study by C.A.L. Bassett wherein he suggested a correlative analogy between bone cells and multi-antenna arrays. Oschman suggested that the collagen and mineral arrays of the bone served as an antenna array for the body. He further suggests that the cellular osteon, which makes up dense bone material, contains the electronic solid state circuitry that detects and interprets the information received by the bones through externally radiating EM fields. In other words, the bones are capable of receiving and interpreting information received from the light spectrum.
Have you ever had a gut feeling or felt something in your bones? According to Western science, the gut sensation is caused by adrenaline entering your system which shuts down your digestive system and bone regeneration cycle and reroutes the blood flow to your muscles. This prepares you for fight-or-flight in response to danger. The sensation of butterflies in the stomach is said to be much the same thing, giving the body a response to anxiety. Intuitives, however, will tell you that a gut feeling is a physical reaction to a spiritual intuition. You are simply processing information from your environment in ways other than through your five common senses and you may first feel the effect of this processing in the antenna system of your gut and bones. Since these areas have a high concentration of piezo crystals, perhaps the intuitives are on to something with their assessment.
It's interesting to note that piezoelectricity is also found in the aorta and the trachea. Other materials with piezoelectric properties include ivory, silk and wood.
Part two of The Body's Crystal Matrix explains the roll of liquid crystals and how they help the body transceive informed energies.
