The Brilliant Htc Desire Z-an Introduction

HTC growing reputation as the best mobile phone brand can only be enhanced with the

introduction of the latest model to their growing range, the excellent Desire Z. Joining the impressive Desire and Desire HD models, the trick that this new model has up its sleeve is the presence of a Qwerty keypad, immediately appealing to messaging fans everywhere.

Screen quality on the HTC Desire Z is up there with the very best currently available. Not many display will appear quite as colourful as this one, with the superb 16 million colour palette to thank for this. Colours would mean nothing without the resolution to back them up, so it is pleasing that this model offers a stunning 480 x 800 pixel screen. Media footage looks vibrant and web pages incredibly detailed. There is no escaping the fact that this is by no means a small mobile phone. The addition of a keypad has added extra millimetres to the overall depth, but at 14.2mm this is my no mean cumbersome. The keyboard slides from behind the screen when the handset is held in landscape mode, and generally the mechanism feels robust and well designed. Like on previous HTC models, an optical trackpad is again included. The beauty of this is that it offers a great alternative to the capacitive display, especially when it comes to tasks such as correcting mistakes in text documents such as e mails or SMS.

The manufacturer has developed its own user interface to work in conjunction with the Android OS, and this is available in all its glory on the HTC Desire Z. "Sense" offers the user a number of features that make the day to day use of the phone a more easy and enjoyable affair. Some great new features are present on this model via the companies website. All of your personal files and information can be automatically backed up, so in the event of you losing your phone, your important files can be easily retrieved. A very handy feature is the ability to call your phone if you have misplaced it, and even if it is set to silent mode it will still ring. If you are unable to locate it, the phone can be remotely locked, rendering it useless to anybody who finds it. The loacations application functions as a superb navigational tool. And even should you find yourself lost in an area with no 3G coverage, you can browse cached maps without needing to access them via the web or download them.

The Desire range will benefit greatly from the addition of this new model. All of the great smartphone functionality you expect is again present, whilst the keypad adds another attractive element to this already superb handset.
