The Brilliant Motorola Defy Available On Orange
Motorola may well have found a niche in the market for a high specification but rugged
handset built to withstand all that everyday life can throw at it. This handset is the new Defy, an Android 2.1 device that not only looks great but also performs admirably.
The Defy is the perfect handset for social networking fans. A host of different accounts can all be set up under a single Networking application. Such features not only make it easy to view a host of information in one place, but your contacts list on sites such as Twitter and Facebook can automatically synchronise with the phones internal phonebook. A unified inbox allows you to not only view various e mail accounts, but also messages from the previously mentioned sites. A handy feature is one that allows you to receive a message from Facebook for example and reply using another form of message such as SMS. This is good if you perhaps require an instant response without needing to wait for the recipient to check their account. It is easy to overlook good old fashioned calls amidst the barrage of features on most modern phones, luckily Motorola have paid particular attention to this, resulting in great clarity during a call. A system named Crystal Talk Plus not only helps reduce background noise during calls but also amplify your own voice. Battery wise the Defy is supplied with a high powered 1540mAh battery that gives excellent results. Users can typically expect around 6 hours 48 minutes of talktime, or translated to standby time this is a staggering 238 hours. Like handsets such as the HTC HD7, the Defy features a 5 mega pixel camera which provides a good quality of image, however the video recording facility is a lower specification at VGA standard, all be it at a respectable 30 frames per second.
The Motorola Defy boasts a great range of connectivity options, making this a perfect internet phone. Like other popular models such as the Samsung Galaxy S, WiFi is covered by this phone, with all three of its current speeds all catered for. Tied in with this is the excellent DLNA feature which allows you to link your phone to your home network and stream media directly from your PC or vica versa. On the move the phones 3G coverage ensures you can always achieve a great signal, and in those rare instance when you cannot, the likes of EDGE and GPRS are on hand to bail you out. Like the hugely popular HTC Desire, the Defy sports a great quality 3.7" screen, perfect for viewing web sites or a host of media files. Resolution is superb at 480 x 854 and it is capable of displaying a massive 16 million colours. the screen not only looks great, but is also well built, using scratch resistant Gorilla glass in order to minimise scuffs and marks after months of use.
