The Burning Outdoors; Everything Red
By the burning outdoors I mean everything in that burning red color that is associated with the outdoors, especially in this late fall season
. From the scorching sunsets, the flickering glow of a red fire and the brilliant crimson leaves falling off the autumn trees. Red is a glorious glowing color outdoors in this season in so many ways, the color and this time of year go hand and hand, warming you right up in the cool nights.
When you think of the word red you think of roses, lips, heat, love, apples, warmth, and sunsets. Being outdoors you think of nature, wind, water, flowers, trees, animals, thinking of sunsets you think of night, romance, red, orange, yellow, glowing. Autumn you think of red, orange, yellow, you think of sweaters, mulled wine, cinnamon, apple pie, fires you think of winter, fall, cool, snow, heat, warmth, cozy, blankets, cocoa, and S'mores. All of these things are connected to warmth, red, fall, and the outdoors.
There are many different colors of the outdoors but this is the season of burning reds, crimson, cherry, maroon, and ruby. Think of a perfect autumn night, your dressed all cozy and you have the grill going your fire lit, wine in hand, sun is setting, youre surrounded by beautiful trees and great company. How many different reds did you just list without realizing it? Well, there was the sun, fire, wine, leaves, not to mention anything else. You can see, smell, hear and taste red all around you. You see the sunset, smell the falling leaves blowing in the wind, hear the crackle of the fire, and taste the warm red wine.
Even the red tint to the wooden outdoor furniture you are sitting on right at that moment. The red stain on the wooden table you put your food on. From actual red wood to the rich red colors in Ipe wood, the red tints in the deck youre sitting on or the porch swing the kids are swinging on under their maroon blanket, the red in our Flag, the berries on a bush, the apples from a tree, and tomatoes on a vine. Though we all think of nature as green, the outdoors is covered in red.
Even the burning feeling you get when you want to be outdoors, the burning feeling inside of you, we all get it, that feeling when you just cant resist the feeling to sit outside on your luxurious wooden lounge chair or cozy wooden swing. Maybe you are a coffee and newspaper AM person who cant bear to miss their morning and if you do it just ruins your day. Or maybe youre an afternoon outside on the wooden porch swing sipping iced tea while the kids ride their bikes kind of person. Some are a fan of the evenings with the grill smoking and wine flowing, and others prefer the real late nights with the kids sleeping, fire roaring and whiskey slowly warming up their insides. No matter which description fits your personality, we all have a burning for the outdoors in one way or another.
Simply put, red is love, red is all around you, surrounding you with love. Its in the air; its in the food; its in the feel of the blankets, arms or fire that warms you. Lounging in the outdoors and relaxing in the rich wooden chairs and pillows, a fire lit and drink of choice in hand, cant get better than that. This is red, this is love, and this is the burning of the outdoors.
