While the CECT i9 is probably still the most popular iClone on the market today, the new airphone has begun getting a lot of attention. People have begun asking me which of these two phones is better. That's a difficult question to answer. In my view, the target audience of these two phones is somewhat different. Admittedly, folks who are drawn to the i9 often really love it's smaller, sleeker size. With that said, the airphone is the sleekest clone on the market, at only 8mm wide. If you are evaluating these two phones based on size and want the thinnest model, then the airphone is your winner.

But there are many other variables that are often also important to consumers. And, taking a look at these variables might help you to determine which of these phones might be best for you. So, I'll take a look at some of the similarities and differences between these two clones in the following article.

Similarities Between The i9 And The Air Phone: For the most part, these phones function in similar ways. They are both oversized touch screen phones that have the finger touch firmware. They are "all in one" models that allow for web browsing, email, and messaging. They support java and bluetooth and have the "shake and tilt" feature. They play and record music and video. They have web cams and digital cameras. The firmware on the i9 is probably still the most popular and user friendly on the market, at least in my opinion. But both phones are good performers and both are quad bands.

Some Differences Between The CECT i9 And The Air Phone: The i9 has the dimensions of 110 x 60 x 11.5 mm. It weighs around 90 grams. In contrast, the air phone has the dimensions of 115 X 62 X 8.5 mm. It weighs about 100 grams. As you can see, it's the width that is the major difference. Some people really want the slimmest phone while some don't see the almost 3 mm as that much of a difference. This really is just a personal preference. The air phone is longer because it has a 3.5 inch screen rather than the 3.2 inch screen that the i9 has.

Some other major differences is that many of the air phones support Skype, have WiFi, and allow for ten pages of customizable icons. However, the air phone does not have the removable battery and the two sim slots that the CECT i9 has. The air phone is a single sim phone. Some folks absolutely demand that availability of the dual sim feature and would argue that this unique feature is what contributed to the clones' popularity in the beginning. And some want to be able to change the battery themselves.

So Which Phone Is Better?: The answer to this question depends on which features are the most important to you. If you're really wanting a dual sim phone or want a removable battery, then the i9 might be the better option. But, if you really have the need for the thinnest clone out there and desire Skype and WiFi, then the air phone might make you happiest.

The i9 is the cheaper phone but this is partly due to the fact that the air phone is the newest. And, often it's not the initial cost of the phone that saves you the most money, it's the lack of commitment and the pay as you go options that come over the life of the phone. And, both the i9 and the air phone offer that type of savings.
