Calgary is the best place in Canada to invest in real estate says a recent REIN report.
The Calgary real estate market has certainly had its ups and downs, but one again Calgary is defined as Canada's top real estate investment opportunity in a recent report last week. Other cities identified inclue Edmonton, Surrey, Winnipeg and Saskatoon to name a few.
Investing in real estate is all about buying in the right market at the right time and waiting for the market to go up in value. Buying low and selling high. But if you are like most people you have to buy and sell in the same market, and the new financing rules have made buying an investment property much more difficult.
In 2006 the Calgary real estate market was well on its way to surging prices. Some listings selling thousands over the list price to multiple offer winners. Buyers had to be quick in wiring offers leaving very little time to make informed decisions regarding their home or condo purchase.
The Calgary real estate market needed a correction badly, over the past years a correction has been in the process making homes more affordable in some cases and allowing potential buyers back into the market. The Real Estate Investment Network's report said Calgary experienced one of its best economic and real estate periods in Canadian history a couple of years ago but then entered a strong, and needed correction
Calgary homes have proven to be a good investment over the years, and if history should repeat itself, Calgary will remain an excellent opportunity for investors to get into the market over the next year or so.
