The Captivating Power Of A Computer

Have you ever discovered that you can't find your cell phone which made you feel completely hopeless and then you realized that at least it's only a cell phone

? Sometimes, we let ourselves grow too attached to various electronic devices that we almost become enslaved by them. Before you assume I am blowing things out of proportion, take a minute to quickly add up the amount of time you spent with your cell phone, computer, or television this past week. When you stop to think about it, the amount of time may surprise you.

There are so many electronic devices that take up so many hours of our time. Things like cellular phones, iPods, computers, and television sets are just some of the electronic devices that I am talking about. I can't tell you how many times I have heard someone lose it because they could not find their cell phone. I know that losing a cell phone is awful, but is it really as bad as let's say losing your car? Judging by a few of the outbursts I have heard, there may be some people who would much rather have their cell phone over their car.

I know that I am more reliant on my computer than I would like to be, but I really feel I need my computer. Whenever I have to take my computer into the shop to get worked on, I am counting down the days until I can go and pick it up again. The computer helps me to connect to so many different things like email, my online banking, and family and friends through different social websites. My computer truly makes my life easier because I can take care of so many different things from my very own home. My husband, on the other hand, lives and breathes with ESPN on his computer screen. He is constantly checking for scores and the lasted updates with sports news. I don't know what he would do without having the news the second it is available.

All kidding aside, I wish that we would be able to manage our time better while still taking advantage of all the benefits that these great inventions have to offer us. Computers are truly an asset to many people for many different reasons. Having your own computer allows you to save time by cutting back on the amount of errands you have to run around town. It is an amazing invention that has truly changed the world.
