The Cataclysm Story

The Cataclysm is here, and Azeroth will never be the same again. Without a doubt you have heard about the new expansion for World of Warcraft. It has been the talk in every Icecrown Citadel raid for the last few months, after all. Everything that we have all come to love and enjoy is about to change, for the better.

For starters, the continents of Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor have been totally reshaped. The starting areas for a few races has totally been revamped, quest hubs moved from one place to another, and overall the story and feel of the areas is going to be unlike in the past. No longer will these areas be the low level questing grounds that only get visited while leveling an alt, doing an achievement, or leveling a profession. These areas are going to be the focal point of the new WoW.

Of course, there will be new content to be seen (on top of the amazing revamped stuff.) They have added both goblins and worgen as playable races, so there are at least 2 new zones to be added for each of them. Add to that a half dozen or so new zones and you have yourself a nice chunk of exploring to do in order to catch up.

The goblins are a sea faring race that has shown a love for trading. While the race has played off to be friendly to both the Alliance and the Horde, the new groups of goblins that have been swept into the known world have allied with the Horde. This should be no surprise, really, as they have always given the Horde preference over the alliance in that they handle services such as the airships.

The worgen are a race that has long been locked out of society. We were given a taste of them with Shadowfang Keep in the past, though that really only touched the surface of this mysterious race. They are a shape changing people, much like a werewolf. They are a friendly people that were simply tucked away once they were shown to have an imperfection. After the incident with the Burning Crusade that released the plague of Azeroth, forming the Forsaken and undead, you can understand. They have allied themselves with the alliance, hoping to fit into society once again.

There are going to be a whole new set of dungeons and raids for high level players, as well as the long awaited heroic Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep. There is going to be something for everyone to do. If you find yourself bored in the next few months, you are just spamming trade chat.

This online game is becoming the number one online game globally. For beginners I would definitely recommend purchasing guides that would make your life alot easier and give you a "push" towards success.
