A nice way to use stepping stones in a small space is to place one stone with a very ornate design or saying on it as a focal point in a garden. This allows the individual to still use stones without having to create a pathway with them. They can be made from a variety of different materials, including plaster, bronze, iron and concrete, to name a few.

If someone lives in a small space such as a condo or apartment, that has a limited outdoor area, it is possible to bring a little of the outdoors to an outdoor patio or balcony by purchasing a stepping stone that hangs on a wall. Even bring a little of the outdoors inside and hang it inside near an entranceway! If a person doesn't have room for a garden in their backyard, take that wall-hanging stone and hang it from a fence or outside wall near some patio furniture or outdoor bistro set to help create a nice outdoor space.
