. It is available in either as a coup or as a sedan, and it is available in four trims, with three engines to choose from, and a choice between two transmissions. This makes the Cobalt a good choice for a large number of people ranging from people looking for leisure to those who want something a little sportier.

The XFE trim offers excellent fuel mileage. The LS offers up an adjustable steering wheel, filtered air conditioning, satellite radio, and a CD player. The other two trims offer extra features such as OnStar assistance, an upgraded stereo system, leather seating, keyless entry, and power accessories.

Even the base engine, a four cylinder 155 horsepower motor, offers impressive performance for a car of this class, including an excellent fuel mileage of about 15.73 kilometers per liter on the highway. The SS model gives the four cylinder engine a boost up to 260 horsepower without too much of an effect on the mileage. This model also gives the car a fun factor by giving the driver a five speed manual transmission. The other trims have optional four speed transmissions.

Rear disk brakes and an anti lock braking system are two safety options available. The car has great crash test ratings, and provides side curtain airbags as part of the standard package.

Reviews have commented that this Chevrolet insulates the driver and passengers from engine and road noise, and the seating is quite comfortable for most people who comment on it. The SS has received especially high marks, with excellent acceleration, handling, and braking for a car in its class.
