The City Palace- Jaipur The Pink city is one of the sought out tourist destination of the world. Jaipur is rich in its culture and heritage with famous structures like City Palace, Hawwa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Amber fort etc Jaipur is said to be the first planned city of India. The architecture of Jaipur is fully based on India style with great care and skill. The city contains Palaces, Temples Markets, Durgs, and Gateways etc. These constructions symbolize the taste of Rajputs.

The city of Jaipur is named after the Maharajah Jai Singh II, who decided to shift his capital from the rough hills of Amber to the present site, during 1727. The city comprises the famous structures like Hawwa Mahal, City Palace and Amber Fort, the best architectural examples of India. Artistic temples and gardens of Jaipur, marks the atmosphere of serenity and visual treat to the visitors of Rajasthan.

The City Palace was built by the great Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during his reign 1729-1732. This is one of the most famous tourist attractions of Jaipur. The City palace is blend of tradional Rajasthani and Mugal architecture. Other structures were added to the Palace by his successors. The palace contains courtyards, gardens etc. The Palace also consists of several buildings like Mubarak Mahal, Chandra Mahal, the temple of Lord Krishna (govind Ji temple) Diwan e- Khas (Hall of Special Audience) and Diwan E- Aam (Hall of Public Audience). The Palace is made of stone and lime mortar that gives the palace as they were built by wood.
