You do not have to move a finger to store it or look after it. You can just view the account statement when you feel like checking out. Of course the value of the points remain the same even if you accumulate them for over a few years and does not diminish.

Reward points and accumulated mileage is useful to you now in more ways than one. You do not have to buy a free ticket or an upgrade anymore and can use your points for many more interesting options that are now available even outside in other fields.
