The Conspiracy Of The Gurus in Affiliate Marketing
Many gurus show you their ClickBank accounts
Many gurus show you their ClickBank accounts. But they never show you what they are selling through these accounts. Do you think the money they make really come from selling dog training or weight loss program they teach you to do? The answer is obviously: No!. The figure on their report card comes from selling the product to YOU. It comes from the tools and systems teaching you how to be an affiliate marketer. And they recycle everything they can: all repeating the same and similar contents: picking niche marketing, choosing keyword, article marketing, blog, social media, traffic generating.
They will tell no need for technical skill, no need for website, no need for list. The only thing is you buy the product from them, and you are done! Indeed there are too many hypes and sales pitch. No matter what the promise is, you end up with 10 eBooks, 30 videos and tones of materials all recycling from different PLR products
Certainly you don't need technical skill to start with, but it doesn't mean you don't need technical in the process. Because after going through all materials, you should become an expert.
To be fair, there is nothing wrong with that. There are people who really need guidance on every aspect to start their affiliate marketing business. Just if you step back a little bit, and look at the whole industry from an outsider's view. What is the nature of affiliate marketing and where the money comes from..
Affiliate marketing seems to be the dream business with no risk, low cost, no inventory, huge income potential, autopilot, and 24/7 internet environment. However the brutal fact is over 99% of affiliate markers do not make money. At least they do not make enough money to quit their job or even to buy the tools by these gurus.
The fundamental principle of affiliate marketers is very good and making business sense. On one side, the vendors supply the goods and service. On the other side, affiliate marketers do the sales and marketing work in exchange for their commission income. Fair enough? Yeah. And there is value created in each party: the vendor, the affiliate marker and the consumer.
However what it is happening now is something odd. More and more money earned in the industry are producing or selling of tools and systems to other affiliate markers. So may I ask a stupid question: where the money comes from? The money comes from the less successful affiliate marketers who struggle to learn every drip of wisdom from the gurus. The money does not come from consumers who buy on internet; at least not the big portion o it which should be.
So it is a money transfer game, not a money creation game. The money is transferred from the individual affiliate marketers to the pocket of the large corporations. Yes, the gurus are not a person, they have their business empire. They have full team of employees writing different software, making fancy videos, doing all kind of researches, managing different accounts etc. No wonder you can see they report card in their presentation, they are done by a team of people and not you, as an individual affiliate marketers.
And why I call this article "the conspiracy of the gurus." And that is the smartest thing: what they are doing is an education work. They are educating tens of thousand of affiliate marketers to do two things for them: 1. to be their customers. Because to be successfully you have to buy their products. And 2. to be their sales representative. As you see, the bulk of money does not come from affiliating to goods and services in ClickBank, but from affiliating their tools and system selling to other affiliate marketers.
So what does individual affiliate marketer do? The key is to have your own solid business that really sustain, so you wont fall into the rat race to keep finding next new tool, next new niche, next new formula.... I will be covering that in the next blog.
In the meantime, have a nice day.
