Are you looking into brewing your own beer at home? If so, you're among a growing number of hobby brewers who create their own craft brews at home for their enjoyment. If you are sure that this is something that you're going to stick with for the long term, then there's nothing stopping you from going "whole hog." Equipment

You will need to buy equipment, and quite a bit of it. You will need a brewing bucket, as well as an airlock, a siphon hose and another bucket in which to let your brew clarify in. The Beer

On top of the equipment for brewing, you'll also need the ingredients for your beer. You'll need malt, yeast, hops and sugar. Most of these ingredients can be purchased in starter kits that come with everything you need. If you buy a kit without the equipment (just the beer ingredients), you'll come out a bit cheaper. Beer ingredient kits can usually be purchased for between $20 and $50, depending on the type of brew you're after.

As you can see, it really doesn't cost that much to get started brewing on your own. However, it can be easy to spend too much before you're sure this is for you, so buy with care.
