There are different types of sandwiches from around the world. One of the famous kinds is the Cubano sandwich or popularly known as Cuban sandwich, which is popular in the city of Miami in Florida. Cuban sandwich is made of grilled pork, ham, pickles, mustard, Cuban cheese, and Cuban bread. As the name suggests, this sandwich came from Cuba and is also a favorite meal among Cubans.

The sandwich was introduced to the United States, particularly in Key West Florida, during the 1800s when Cuban immigrant workers entered the American soil. This sandwich was a popular meal among the migrant workers then and soon after the Italian Genoa salami became an ingredient to the sandwich, especially to Cuban sandwiches that were made from Tampa area. Subsequently, several bakeries and cafes started serving the traditional Cuban sandwiches in Key West, Ybor City, and other areas. The sandwich became so popular that it was regarded as a common dish being served in various Miami restaurants and cafeterias. At present, Cuban sandwich is not only popular in Cuba alone but also found its way to charm American sandwich aficionados.
