The Development Of Beneficiation Technology
The development of beneficiation technology
Ore often contain a variety of useful components (such as phosphate rock often contains iron, titanium, vanadium and rare earth elements). To take full advantage of the national mineral resources and meet the needs of economic construction, we must elect and recycle them as much as possible, and rationally use a variety of useful component in the ore. This is called comprehensive utilization.
The feed water to the DAF float tank is often (but not always) dosed with a coagulant (such as ferric chloride or aluminum sulfate) to flocculate the suspended matter.
A portion of the clarified effluent water leaving the DAF tank is pumped into a small pressure vessel (called the air drum) into which compressed air is also introduced. This results in saturating the pressurized effluent water with air. The air- saturated water stream is recycled to the front of the float tank and flows through a pressure reduction valve just as it enters the front of the float tank, which results in the air being released in the form of tiny bubbles. The bubbles adhere to the suspended matter, causing the suspended matter to float to the surface and form a froth layer which is then removed by a skimmer. The froth-free water exits the float tank as the clarified effluent from the DAF unit.
Magnetite beneficiation technology
Magnetite is a ferrimagnetic mineral with chemical formula Fe3O4, one of several iron oxides and a member of the spinel group. The core technology of magnetite separating is low intensity magnetic separation, other
ore beneficiation technologies include: ore pre-selected cast tail, concentrate anti-flotation desulfurization, desilicification, etc.
The features of this process: it uses magnetic pulley to select some of the waste rocks after crushing the coarse in the roughing operations, which reduce the amount of ore into the mill and cut down the costs. concentrate anti-flotation desulfurization, desilicification can improve the quality of iron concentrates.
Flotation machine is used in the flotation process of rare metals like copper and nickel. Because of the different colors, flotation of fine grain materials is very difficult. The following are two reasons that cause the difficult flotation:
1. Fine grain is larger than surface area, surface energy can increase greatly. Under certain condition, surfaces of different ores can coagulate with each other selectively. On the other hand, as the surface energy of fine grain is large, though it owns high absorption ability, it has bad selective adsorption ability, which causes the difficult selective of fine grain.
2. Small fine grain volume causes little possibility to collide with bubble. Volume of fine grain is small, when fine grain collides with bubble, it cannot overcome the resistance of hydrated shell between ore and bubble, so it can hardly adhere to bubble.
