On the other hand, marble or cement flooring is heavy so the structures should have a very sturdy beam so that it won't collapse. You also need to reinforce these beams which means that you need to spend more. Hardwood is only built upon wooden beams which, of course, are more affordable.

Overall, more people prefer hardwood on their floors because it grows more beautiful with time, it is cheap and it is easy to replace or fix.
