The Difference Between Surprise Party Planning And Regular Party Planning

Planning a party always entails a lot of thought and consideration as well as a bit of hard work to boot

. However, if you are surprise party planning, you will have a bit more to consider. The reality is that when it comes to planning the actual party itself, it is for all intense and purposes the same. There is one exception about this party though and it is the art of mastering that element of surprise for your guest of honor.

When it comes to a surprise party or any other party for that matter, planning is fairly uniform. Guest list and invitations, menu, music and games are all top priority when it comes to the basics of party planning. The one thing that needs a different approach to be taken is if the party is a surprise. The key here is that it must be kept secret from the guest of honor. This fact should be made abundantly clear on any invitation that is sent. If not, you risk some party attendant telling the special guest all about the party. Having someone spill the beans about the surprise party because they were not informed can mean all your hard work would be in vain.

The next thing about surprise party planning that is different from a regular party is that when it comes to the food or the music you need to keep your guest of honor in mind. Since the main theme of the party will be largely centered on them, it is important to cater to that persons needs. For example, while a 4th of July party may be about the day, the food menu for such a party can consist of a wide variety of foods and drinks. Since the surprise party is about a particular person, remember to make it all about them by picking the music, food and guests that are special to them.

The last thing to remember when surprise party planning is to make sure the person you are trying to surprise is a good sport and has a good sense of humor. Many people, even when there is a party involved, may not fully appreciate the fact that they were duped or deceived. Most people will tend to be good-natured about the event; however, some people will simply not be amused. Therefore it is important to know if your guest of honor would be okay with being surprised before you ever begin planning to do so.
