The Disappearing Day
This may seem a simple question but many people do not actually manage their time well
. They put in longer hours in order to get things done but in fact often run round in circles when they could be making much better use of their time.
1440 minutes
Thats how many minutes you have every day.
No matter what you do you will never add one single minute to that number. Every minute that ticks by is lost forever. You cannot go back. They are the most valuable resource you have now or will ever have. What do you do with this precious resource?
Evaluate everything you do and make sure you are doing things most efficiently.
You hear so many say there are not enough hours in the day. Well this is not going to get any better. The hours you have are the hours you have not any more or any less.
Treat time respectfully because Time is Your Life. The minutes ticking by are ticking away your very being.
Dont waste these precious minutes, hours, days, years.
The key to successful time management is planning and then actually carrying out the planned activities. You may need to look at your environment carefully and the expectations of the people around you.
Set your goals and include time for yourself. Goals and aims are the cornerstone of your best use of time. Keep a daily diary of things to do, tick them off when done and feel the relief when your whole task list has ticks against it.
Time management starts with the commitment to change and commitment to action. Learn to become more time efficient every day not just when faced with deadlines or holiday periods.
Managing your day effectively enables personal improvement and to be more productive and fulfilled.
The collective implications of wasted time, and happily also the benefits of increasing personal productivity, are immense.
There are many time management tools and courses but these may not be necessary. Managing your time better is something you can do yourself just by being sensible and realistic.
How many times do you sit at your desk looking at paperwork and just turning it over and over? While youre doing such a thankless task time is slipping by. Do you actually need to keep looking at these bits of paper or can they be binned?
You may need to make some drastic changes so be creative and find different ways of doing things.
Manage your emails and phone calls. Don't let them manage you. Ideally check at planned times, and avoid continuous notification of incoming emails.
Remember the graveyards are full of indispensable people.
A man came upon two workers breaking granite so he stopped to ask them, What are you doing? The first one sarcastically replied, What does it look like Im doing? Im trying to break this granite. The second worker enthusiastically responded, Im part of a team of people who are building a beautiful cathedral.
Having a positive attitude and a passion for your work is vital if you aspire to have great success in your life.
