Blogs serve not just as a marketing medium to push products to the public they can

also become feedback mechanism to help companies gain a better understanding of what their clients want.

A blog is also a good public relations medium largely because of its capacity to reach a wide audience. But blogs are only good for business if they are utilized properly. Without the proper use of blogs, businesses will not be able to gain the full benefits that can be had from blogging.

Here are some of the do's of blogging that will help you get the best out of blogging:

Do allow comments. It is very important for the comments section of your blog to be open. Allowing comments on your blog make your blog a much more effective communication channel. If you wish to have more control over the comments that are being published in your blog, you may choose to moderate the comments. But it is very important to let fair comments be published even if the comment is negative. You just need to address negative comments objectively and find a way to rectify the situation.

Do leave comments on other people's sites. Post positive comments on other people's sites so that you can also develop better relationships with other bloggers and to also attract more people to visit your blog.

Do update your blog regularly- have something new for your readers every week so that they will be encouraged to follow your blog.

Here are a few don't's in business blogging:

Don't blog about matters that are too personal- do not post anything to personal on your blog such as the fight you had with your neighbor, your hair loss or anything that might make your readers uncomfortable. It is alright to publish some personal information that will help you build string relationships with your readers but do not publish every little tidbit about your life, unless you are blogging to sell your life story.

Do not plagiarize other people's contents- believe it or not, this still happens. If you do not have time to write good contents for your blog then simply hire a virtual assistant who will do the work for you.

Don't start fights in your own blog or in others'- don't ever start a fight online. Follow internet etiquette and do not try to antagonize anyone even if you truly believe they are worth antagonizing.
