The Eternal Wardrobe Dilemma

Ladies just love to look good

Ladies just love to look good. It"s not about thinking that going out and looking your best is something that is reserved for the stars and celebrities. Nor is fashionable ladies wear something that you only have to think about once or twice a year when Christmas comes. Looking good isn"t also something that happens when a special birthday party invite arrives through your door. However, when those unexpected invitations do fall on your lap, you know that sinking feeling that immediately dampens your mood. It"s the same each time, isn"t it? What on earth can I wear?

You frantically scurry about your bedroom, flinging open wardrobe doors and drawers as you try to locate tops and dresses, jackets and trousers and other pieces of ladies wear. Everything comes tumbling off shelves and lands in an unhappy heap on your floor. Nothing will do. This particular occasion is different and that pair of crisp linen trousers and jacket that you once thought always looked so good teamed with a matching handbag, shoes and belt just no longer looks so cool. The skirt that used to make you feel so wonderful now makes you look drab and dull. The dress that used to sparkle and make your confidence soar now looks like it's ready for the local jumble sale. Nothing, absolutely nothing works.

Of course after all this comes the niggling feeling that everyone else will look a dream, wearing the best and the brightest ladies wear around. Your best friend included. When you do spot just the right outfit you know what the problem is before you try it on: the colour looks like something so old fashioned you can't possibly wear it. Then comes the real crunch: oh dear, you've indulged yourself a little too much recently; you've eaten one cake or pastry too much and it shows, and now the bigger problem looms: nothing fits.

By now of course you're going to be in near despair. You start the process all over again, pulling out dresses, skirts, frocks of all colours and styles but it's no good, because nothing looks good or fits.

Everything gets shuffled haphazardly back into wardrobe bars, shelves and cupboards and you realise with that next sinking feeling, you just have to get something new.
