The Evolution Of Golf

Golf has been loved since its creation

Golf has been loved since its creation. What began as a leisure activity has developed into sport now seen all over the world and advertised on stations like ESPN. Watching as the golf club effortlessly swings that white tiny ball has made us love this particular sport. How did the game of golf develop? Well, there are numerous answers available for that query.

In the 15th century in Scotland, the parliament had restricted the playing of "gowf". Some people claim this is identical to our current golf game, while others say it's not. Some say during the 17th century that the game of golf was played in the Netherlands but this, too, is questionable. We know this as a game of 18 holes. However, studies have revealed that the game originally started out somewhere with around 11 holes. But because golfers would play up through the 11 holes and back, researchers have further stated that golf started as a game of 22 holes.

The Professional Golf Association, which is the world's earliest association for the game was founded in Britain in 1901. Then in 1911, Australia followed suit with the Professional Golfers' Association of Australia. As far as the United States went, we began to saw professional golf competitions appear somewhere in the 1920's. We couldn't observe females actively playing the sport openly right until somewhere after World War II. Where specifically golf was developed continues to be a debatable question.

But one thing is certain; this game has now captivated the whole world. Switch on your television set and you are going to see players from France, Africa, China, Australia, the United States, and more. Most of us love golfers like Vijay Singh, Camilo Villegas, Sergio Garcia and Phil Mickelson. Go to any city just about worldwide and you will probably find a golf course, including one that is along the way.

Creating these courses to make them more challenging has been a hot ticket for quite some time. Now you'll see flat courses, courses on hills, courses designed around waterways, etc. The more difficult the challenge the course provides the more the players like it. We now have live telecast for the PGA Tour, enabling us to keep an eye on golfers like Tiger Woods. Admirers would probably travel across countries just to see this sport played live in front of them.

Though guys continue to reign over the number of players of golf, females have also come about as professional golfers for the last 60 years; with professionals like Annika Sorenstam, Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, and Morgan Pressel. Women have been surfacing at the lead over the years and also have recently been providing men a run for their funds in relation to group of fans.

It is undeniably true that our society loves golf. Who suspected hitting a small golf ball using a stick across a particular field and towards a golf hole could be so fascinating? With lots of admirers, this game is already as well-liked as football. Undoubtedly, this game is not merely a trend that goes classic with time, but an activity that will certainly last long.
