The Exhilaration Of Shower Pumps

It's all very well having a beautiful bathroom with the latest colour scheme

, under floor heating and swanky tiles but if your shower produces no more that a reluctant dribble of tepid water them all of your decorating efforts will be entirely wasted. I don't know about you but I'd rather a shower that worked properly than the latest bathroom colour scheme - the colour of your decor doesn't get you clean and feeling refreshed but a decent shower does!

With the wide range of shower accessories available you don't even have to rip your entire shower cubicle out and start from scratch it may just be the pump that's not working correctly or if you live like I do in a hard water area it could simply be the shower head which is clogged with lime-scale.

I have to say that when you start looking at the new shower models available it's easy to look beyond the basics and your mind, rightly or wrongly, tells you it's about time you had a new shower! But, times are tough and at the moment we simply can't afford to rip everything out and start afresh, so I decided to call a plumber and ask his opinion and options we had.

He arrived and, as I guessed, it was a combination of two problems, the shower pump needed replacing along with the shower head. I know that the head was easy enough to do but when it comes to fitting shower pumps I need to listen to the experts.

After much deliberating, cogitating and consultation with the plumber and my other half we decided to have a new shower and spent a while perusing the different styles, sizes of shower pumps and designs online. Having made our choices the date was set for the plumber to return and fit the whole ensemble, including a brand new power shower.

When the shower came along and had been fitted, it made it quite possible to shower, wash your hair, and even shave whilst luxuriating under a nice hot jet stream of water. It takes no longer than about 5 minutes on average, or 10 minutes if you decide to take your time, and having a power shower is a great way to start the day. Likewise if your body, and mind, aches after a long hard day the jets of hot water are great at pummelling tired muscles to give you a home water massage; alternatively we can turn the shower heads' dial and have a range of other hot water experiences!

Oh, how time have changed, once upon a time you'd have to go to a hotel or a spa or some such establishment to enjoy the exhilaration of the power shower. However today, you can buy a wide range of shower pumps that can really deliver strong jets of water, in fact if you have a seriously strong power shower on full tilt, the needles of water can actually hurt your skin!
