Hypnosis has been around since the ancient times. It began in as early as 3000 BC, where the medications and healings were discovered. Hypnotism was used by the ancients for healing, although they did not use the term hypnosis then. The healers of those days would use hypnosis to help ease the pain of those who were terminally ill or could no longer be helped by the herbal medicines.

It might have been called by many different names before, but the term "hypnotism" was coined by James Braid, who was also known as the "father of modern hypnotism". Hypnotism was the abbreviation of neuro-hypnotism which means nervous sleep or sleep of the nerves.

This technique had been met with a lot of speculation and for those who did not understand it called it magic as they labeled anything they did not understand. Eventually, the technique was passed down through the centuries increasing its mysteries. It gained popularity in the days when Franz Anton Mesmer studied it and abused the technique.

Hypnotism was recognized by the science of the mind, or psychology, and applied it for psychotherapy. In the modern world, the use of the technique evolved into something else, such as in marketing.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) uses the techniques behind hypnosis. With the use of specific words and phrases, the listener could get wrapped up in their imagination and needs and purchase items which were suggested by the marketing strategy.

NLP is also used by speech writers to make moving and idea forming speeches that plays with words to connote a feeling or an idea. This is a very popular technique among speechwriters for politicians.

It may take a little practice, but if you use hypnosis method correctly, you will find that it is an excellent way of achieving your goal of practicing covert hypnosis to achieve the goal you desire.
