There are three major areas in the fashion business: the creative area, the technical area and the business area. These areas are the ones that can make the fashion industry survive on the market. On the other hand, a trend forecaster is the person that discovers new styles and establishes the new trends. Two of the most important characteristics of a trend forecaster are creativity and imagination. Taking into consideration the information that he/she has received from the fashion researcher and the trend forecaster, the fashion designer in the one that creates the clothes. There is also a person that establishes the price of each clothing item created. This person is called a fashion merchandiser. For this job one needs strong business skills and a business understanding because he/she will have to deal with both customers and suppliers.
The numerous people that work behind the scenes of fashion party the ones that help the fashion industry to develop. So, those that would like to have a job in the fashion industry first have to decide what they would like to be.
