The five senses make up the world we live in; they dictate to everything that we do why we do them and how we get around them. But when it comes to looking for a love what do we look at in the most depth.

Sight at first it is so important that you are attracted to someone physically if you like what you see then that is half the battle. If you like the way they dress, and the way, in which they wear their hair, it will be pivotal in your attraction to them. But it is also true that if any of the other senses put out negative vibes you may be put off them regardless how they look. If they smell unfavorably for example you won't want to be near them. If they speak in a dulcet tone you don't approve of then it can be tricky. And what if after they past all the previous three senses, they taste of smoke when you kiss them, definite put off. And finally if you get to the point where you touch them, their rough callous skin just irritates to a point of despair. If a date passes all these tests then they may well be the one for you.

The reason for perfume and aftershave is because retailers know that our sense of smell and what we associate that to, has a huge bearing on what we do in the future. And by making yourself smell good, male or female, you can have a huge sway on what someone of the opposite sex thinks of you on first impression, and the first impression is everything. The way in which we laugh, cough and everything is analyzed by members of the opposite sex when it comes to dating. It is why people don't reveal too much on the first date, they are worried that if they let themselves go the other person may see them in a way they don't approve of.

But in essence the five senses could actually be seen as redundant, because when it comes down to it, there is a sixth sense that overpowers all of these and that is our emotions. If our emotions decide that this is the person we want to be with, the way in which they smell and look etc. Is irrelevant, although the five senses can have a huge bearing on the emotions and feelings you have towards someone, it eventually comes down to how you feel about them deep down. This is the thing to remember when it comes to dating, don't be put off by initial first impressions, delve deeper see how you really feel.
