Ford is taking the Transit to the US in a bid to replace most of its Econoline lineup

The Transit will bring advanced features including improved fuel efficiency, said a senior editor for an automotive website. Its absolutely the right move.

Details on how the US model will be fitted out have not yet been released, but the European version has six diesel engine options and one petrol. Diesel engines have not yet taken off in the States, even though they are more fuel efficient. Time will tell if the Transit will be the one to change that.
