The Four-in-one Skid Steer Bucket Attachment In Review
Having the right skid steer attachment can make all the difference in the world to the skid steer owner operator
. Of course having to constantly swap out attachments not to mention hauling and storing them can get tedious. That's why it's important to have an attachment that is as versatile as the skid steer loader itself.
The size, shape and versatility of the skid steer loader has already made it a favorite workhorse of every construction and landscaping crew. It is a do-it-all machine that uses flexible and versatile attachments to get the job done.
It should not come as much of a surprise that dedicated skid loader owners have built skid steer attachments that do multiple tasks on a job site. There are even a few skid loader attachments that triple up. The four-in-one bucket is one of the few skid steer attachments that does, as its name implies, four important earth-moving jobs in one attachment.
The four-in-one bucket is first and foremost a bucket attachment. The bucket is, of course, the most basic and universally useful of all skid steer attachments. The four-in-one bucket is available in both toothed and non-toothed versions, and can be had in a variety of widths, from 60 to 84 inches. A heavy-duty steel bucket with cavernous capacity, this skid loader attachment has been specially designed for breaking up and digging huge holes in the soil, for carrying rocks, dirt and debris wherever the skid loader operator chooses to carry and dump a load.
This is the four-in-one bucket attachment, however, so it is apparent that it does more than just dig a little dirt and carry rocks around. There is a hinged front section of the bucket, and when this part is unlatched, it swings away and can be lifted and secured out of the way. At this point, the skid steer driver is left with a heavy duty, reinforced steel dozer blade that is essential for moving soil, grading and clearing operations in any construction or landscaping job. The shallow wedge blade is just the right shape for moving a lot of soil without the unnecessary risk of deep scalping that some conventional dozer blades have been known to cause.
The four-in-one bucket skid steer attachment is also an incredible strong, useful grapple attachment. With its hinged opening, this skid steer attachment acts as a formidable grapple tool that can be used just like a dedicated scrap grapple skid steer attachment for grabbing and dragging any kind of junk, from broken material to large biological debris, to, perhaps most importantly, being able to grasp and crush material on the job site that is too big to handle as it is. The four-in-one bucket attachment can also use its open bucket position as the skid steer is driven in reverse to back-grade a section of property, perhaps preparing it for seed or some other improvement.
Backward-grading is a unique capability of this attachment that opens up the possibility of preparing topsoil for receiving seed without marring the freshly graded surface with the wheels or tracks of the skid steer loader.
Any one of the four functions of the four-in-one bucket would be well worth the price for this mechanical marvel. But what is truly amazing is that all of these features and functions can be used, one after another, right on the job site without ever switching attachments. Forget changing machines, this attachment is every bit as versatile as the skid loader it was designed for.
