We all love to travel

We all love to travel. Whether it is to a local park or across the country, many of us take for granted that we can get into our car anytime we wish and drive. However, there are many of us who are not afforded this opportunity. Many cannot drive due to physical limitations such as poor eye sight. This determination is normally made based on the individuals inability to drive safely because to their limited visibility. However, there are many others, who suffer from physical handicaps that do not restrict their ability to see or hear. Until recently these individuals have not been unable to drive. This scenario was in large part due to these individuals legs not being able to work in a fashion which would allow them to operate standard motor vehicles. However, with the design of wheelchair vans, this restriction has now become a thing of the past.

How Can Wheelchair Vans Cater to the Handicap?

Wheelchair vans have been designed to allow any individual to easily operate a motor vehicle. These designs eliminate the need for the use of legs by constructing hands only devices that control all major functions of the vehicle. From the button on the key chain to operate the lift, to the hand operated gas pedals, every design in handicap vans has been created to make the task of driving easier than ever before.

Handicap Vans Also Cater to Handicap Passengers

Handicap vans are not solely designed for the benefit of a handicap individual driving the vehicle. Other modifications have been made to these vans to allow handicap individuals to be passengers in the front or back seats. Features such as the rollaway seats allow for individuals to increase their passenger space. This ensures that all individuals can safely and comfortably sit in the van while it is in operation.

No Assistance is Needed to Operate the Van

With all of the hand operated functions, any handicap individual can get into their van, start the engine and drive away without any outside assistance. This is essential for the overall freedom of the individual.

Everyone wants their freedom. Despite this desire many people are faced with significant hurdles everyday just to perform functions that most of us take for granted. Despite these limitations however, it is becoming easier for all people to enjoy lifes many luxuries by capitalizing on our ability to harness the power of what we have, not what we do not.
