The cause of the obsession is immeasurable. It actually depends on a persons inner strength. Gambling addiction can be similar to drugs and alcohol. It may cause losing everything you have. Your actions may be as violent as drugs and alcohol but the damage will take a big space in you and everything that surrounds you.

It is definitely true that a gambling addiction is hard to cure just like any other addictions. A person who is addicted to gambling wins and gains a lot, he continuously make more and more money. He's earning capacity will increase in a much higher level. These increases makes a gambler do a lot more gambling and push its limit to the edge. That's why when he experience loses he is willing to try again and again until everything is gone. He will play non stop until it breaks everything.

A gambler who is suffering from this may not even know he have this kind of sickness. The crash for his humanity may not even noticeable at the beginning, but the continuous process of this addiction will be visible to his/her environment and to his own self. Addicted gamblers may also suffer from agitation and a lot communal behavior which are somehow related to his environment. Financial problem will automatically came.

The addiction will block his mind. Winning or losing wouldn't matter to him anymore. The fact that he can gamble is only matters to him. The act can sometimes calls from getting into some unlawful activities that will not only endangered his own life but also his love ones.

When addiction became obvious it may be too late for the gambler. You might even lose your family by that time or the worst you commit suicide. A lot of incident report of suicides are because of gambling addiction. They think this is the better way to make a remarkable escape of the consequences of their gambling act.

The cure of this addiction will only be possible if the addict gambler is willing to cooperate. Therapy is somehow the best solution for it. But isn't it best to observe oneself? Practice the responsible acts and avoid being trapped in a regretful situation will do. Remember that prevention is better than cure.
