The Gift in Letting Go

The Gift in Letting Go

Your significant other is gone. After the relationship breakup or divorce, you're left behind with photographs of better times, and Hallmark cards with promises of yesterday. Things like the radio, computers, and even your cell phone seem like evil little wicked devices that continually possess you to contact your ex and prevent the chances that you bounce back from divorce or breakup. You call, you text, you even stalk sometimes but "Hey, don't judge me, this is love!" It's ok, I have been there. I have felt helpless, lost, confused, and most common of all among most scorned lovers is the certain sense of anger you feel. You are blazing in fire ready and willing to set aflame the culprit, not knowing that the only person with 3rd degree burns is you.
Pain is normal after a relationship breakup - it is an effect to the cause of having your heart broken, your trust tarnished, and your faith destroyed. Anger is evil; it blinds you, lies to you, and eats your strength, energy, and love. It is a parasite that feeds on its host to survive. The only way to kill this bug is to let go of anger. Yes, you have every right to be angry, to be frustrated or infuriated; but allowing these sentiments to foster in your body, mind, and soul will only consume you and overpower you. You are vulnerable and fragile at this point-and-time in your life with feelings uncontrollable to even the strongest of people.
Start to regain control of your life with the things you can change and get ready to bounce back. You cannot change the pain, the loss, or your past, but you can change your attitude towards them. Anger is the first and most vital attitude you need to change.
There is a gift waiting for you, a gift that is priceless, and coveted by all of humanity: the gift of peace. You will find the peace you long for, the peace that will allow the process of healing to begin once you let go of your anger. Elizabeth Kenny quoted "He who angers you conquers you." It is time for your freedom; you have been bound to the chains of your anger looking for an escape and holding the keys in your hands.
You will find more damage in your own resentment than you will ever find in the goodbye of your lover. Your ex is gone and living life in serenity and freedom; it is your responsibility to focus on you. Healing inevitably takes time; whether it is a broken arm, leg, or heart. Some people will heal quicker than others, some need more time. How long it will take you to heal relies in the time it took you to start. Why wait?! Start right now and get ready to bounce back from divorce or a relationship breakup. What do you have to lose?
It is never too early to love yourself. The quicker you start to cure your anger the sooner you will begin to heal, and we all need and desire healing. You can do this! You are not a victim, you are a SURVIVOR. Victims never heal, they re-live their past, and they are stuck in their pain and anger. You are a survivor, you are a brave, resilient individual who has the courage to overcome hardship or misfortune, and you will overcome your broken heart and bounce back. This is one of the only things you have the power to change in these difficult times of your life. Let no one rob you of your power to "let go" and receive your gift. Receive your peace, search for it, fight for it, declare it, own it, long for it, it is yours and no one can take that away from you.
