This might also seem a problem to some students as at times students prefer the step by step working to have a clear understanding of the problem. It helps you face the real level of the questions of the GMAT.

Another good book for GMAT is the Princeton which helps the reader in gaining knowledge of making an educated guess. It also teaches the process of elimination in an organized way. This might also seem a drawback for Princeton as it focuses mostly on guessing techniques while neglecting the quantitative solution.

In case you want a book more as a supplement, then Kalpan is the best choice. This seems to be one of the best books when the student wants to have an extra set of questions. It is to be noted that this is not preferred more as a textbook because the explanations are not given in a proper manner. Also the math content at times goes to a very basic level and a student needs to prepare above that to score well in the GMAT.

In spite of the large variety available it is always preferred that you have at least one of the above as a textbook to help you score better in the exam. Also the best way to score best in this exam is to practice hence the greater time you have, the more books you should solve which will help you gain confidence which is important in this exam.
