The Good In Shower Pans

? Because of constant usage of the shower room and its flooring which only boast of cement mortar, these problems are deemed inevitable. They are more likely to worsen when not given correct measures. But do not worry, these headaches can now be relieved through shower pans.

Shower pans are bases that act as a collector of excess water and place it directly at the drain. There are several kinds of raw materials that can be used as a shower pan. They can either be a fiberglass or any cultured marbles, etc. You do not necessarily need to build a pan, there are custom made or readymade bases in the market.

Installation of shower pan is somehow complex but still, is an easy task. There are some pointers to learn: first, the floor surface in which you will be placing the pan should be real smooth and very even. You must be able to put the desired pan perfectly. It is also advisable to purchase a one piece pan because they are unlikely to break and there are no joints to consider.

With this, leak will never be an issue. Second, the drain portion of the shower pan should be exactly situated and fitted with the main floor drain tube. There should be no need to lengthen or put additional piping in it. And to seal the sides of these tubes, use silicon or plumbers putty. In this way, you can keep the water away from the actual flooring. Third, lay a membrane or a liner. Its sides must extend at least 8 inches to the shower wall. And do not forget, the liner should have an opening equal to that of the shower pan. Fourth, dispense mortar or sand in a size of few inches in the base area, it must be scattered evenly. Lastly, you must utilize only quality shower pans. There are some bases which are a bit cheaper and few that are too costly. And it is always an intelligent act to buy expensive materials but of paramount quality than inexpensive but are of medium grade.

To get the best out of your shower pans, you must be very careful with the setting up procedures. There must be no room for the water to penetrate which in strict sense, means that there must be no room for errors. You would not want to start over again, right?
