The Greater Painter, Stezo

Szeto was from Guangzhou and came to France in 1975

. In 1980, awarded by the grant of young artists by French Ministry of Culture, his first solo exhibition was held in Sheville Gallery in Paris. And then he participated in the French watercolor painting exhibition in the Grand Palace in Paris. In 1981, one of his works won the 1st prize of Italian Lubsin painting and joined joining the Galarie Claude Bernard gallery in Paris. In 1982, he joined the France Pompidou Culture Center, and National Museum of modern art and Contemporary Art Gallery IN SITU to exhibit twenty works and won the Paris academy "ferry" prize.

In 1987, he participated in the "eight exhibitions of France Boulogne Cultural Center" and held his solo exhibition in Taipei. In 1993, he was warmly invited to be a professor in China Academy of Art (the former Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts) and executive editor in the Institute of Chinese Studies of Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1995, he exhibited his personal show in J.ELBAZ Gallery. In 1996, he acted as the guest professor of Xian Academy of Fine Arts. His publication was "the crisis of contemporary artist and figurative expressionism painting".

In his works, the heaven and earth had unlimited scenery. He did not deliberately focus on realism, and isolate from the reality. His works were not concerned with fantastic scenes which were not easily understood. The scenery was particularly designed by Stezo. These scenes may not be beautiful, happy, and may depressed, sad, but be filled with his dense personal emotions for us to think and appreciate.

Stezo's success did not lie in the acquisition of western or eastern styles, and the deliberate description of the beauty of scenery. In his paintings, there was also deep love in addition to the beauty.
