In addition to cleaning them on time the frequency of use will also determine the frequency of cleaning. For those that are used often they must be cleaned often too. For those that take a while before they are used they will have to be cleaned after some period of time.

The materials that will be needed for cleaning are a bucket that will be used to contain the cleaning solution. A mild cleaning detergent so that it will not ruin the surface of the stool. You shall need a piece or several pieces of cloth for cleaning the surface. If the surface is made of a fabric the right cleaning agents shall have to be used on them.

Make a solution using the soap with water. If you can use warm water it is recommended. With the cloths that you collected wash the stool surface as well as the legs. Wash them thoroughly. Pay extra attention in case there are stains or stubborn dirt that will not come off easily.


For fabric surfaces that may have stains remove them using vinegar solution with water. For those that are made of leather clean using leather cleaning solution. If the fabric and leather surfaces have no dirt at all they can be left that way so as not to ruin them.

Rinse the cloth that you used to wash thoroughly. If you have another clean one you may use it instead. Use it to wipe the surface using clean water. Rinse and wring it so that you may use it to dry the seat. If there is a dry cloth you may also use it for the drying process.

For unpleasant odors baking soda has to be used. It removes bad odors by being sprinkled on the seat and left for a while. After some time it can be vacuumed off the seat. Leaving it for a period of say twelve hours will guarantee that the odor will be eliminated. It has to be a seat that is made of fabric.

Treat alcohol and tobacco stains separately. Ammonia is a good stain remover for wine or any other drinks that leave a residual color. Be careful with stain removal agents because it might ruin the surface of the bar stool. If you are not sure of how the stain shall be removed it is advisable that you get help from a professional.
