It is here, at last! The HTC Desire HD has been tipped to topple Apple's iPhone from its high horse

. The phone is packed with awesome features which can be access via a huge capacitive touch screen. The Desire HD is a little bigger than your average smartphone but this is so it can accommodate the massive display. The phone is Android based and boasts the new Froyo 2.2 version of the ever popular mobile OS.

Straight out of the box the Desire HD will allow you to handle multiple e-mail accounts and IM clients. A dedicated app called "HTC Peep" has been assigned to managing Twitter and Facebook has also been assigned its own application. FriendStream is a cool feature which combines all of your communications across all messaging formats, including social networking and e-mail, and puts them into one, easy to follow stream of information.

An integrated 8MP digital camera allows users to capture beautiful HD 720p videos and crisp still images which can be uploaded to a selection of social networks and YouTube. The video player is awesome, basically; it will handle pretty much any file you run on it and the music player is the same. Desire HD users will be pleased with the sound quality from the speakers and a 3.5mm jack will take almost any headphones.

The HTC Desire HD is fully customizable thanks to the uncensored access to the Android Market which provides a large collection (thousands) of apps for users to download. The phones memory can be expanded as far as 32GB via microSD and thanks to Bluetooth it can communicate wirelessly with compatible hardware devices.

HTC have delivered a commendable, praiseworthy alternative to the iPhone. The HTC Desire HD is without a doubt, the most sought after Android smartphone to ever exist.
