. The HTC Sense experience provides you with a centred view of everything such as collaborating all contacts together with Friend Stream and easy message and email management.

The handset features a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with flash and HD video recording capabilities (720 pixel resolution respectively). In image capture mode, it also offers face detection and built-in effects such as vignette amongst others. Images and videos are also location tagged (geotagging). You can also instantly share photos and videos with friends through the social networks integrated on this handset, including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube.

The phone has both a large 3.7 inch touch display and a slide out keyboard for easy typing . It runs the latest Android operating system, 2.2 Froyo respectively, and is powered by 512 megabytes of random access memory in addition to its 800 Megahertz processor which allows it to easily run multiple applications and widgets simultaneously. Its internal storage memory meanwhile is an impressive 1.5 gigabytes bistable by a microSD card slot for expandable memory.

The Desire Z has Maps which utilize the integrated GPS antenna to provide location based services. While other applications may provide maps which require downloading, the Maps application shows maps instantly on screen including all local top spots relevant to your location, and always points you in the right direction in conjunction with your orientation of the handset, using the accelerometer sensor.

The People widget has now been improved with more power enabling you to create groups for your friends and contacts while still showing you their picture, latest social network status and if you have a text message or missed call from them, all in one easy to see view. All of your email accounts are also now brought together into one viewable inbox with colour coding to show which emails are from which accounts.

The HTC Desire Z is a capable and powerful handset providing both a large touch screen interface along with a full well-spaced keyboard which slides out for easy and fast text input to reply to messages or add comments to friends statuses on Facebook. It also has improved features from its predecessor and allows you to capture video in HD and watch them back on a big screen, along with an improved HTC Sense and widgets.
