The Desire Z has integrated Facebook and Twitter for the Sense interface which includes the Friend Stream application for easy social networking as it places all contacts into one easy to view place including their latest social networking satiates or updates. Photos and videos can be easily shared on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr also. The phone features a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash with face detection capability and built-in effects including depth of field and vignette. Automatic location tagging of videos and photos is also present (Geotagging).

The phone includes an internal GPS antenna to allow further such location based services including the integrated Locations application which allows you to explore maps with no waiting to load, or dead spots, along with zero dat roaming fees. Other applications include the Gallery to view photos and videos, Music for music playback alongside the internal FM radio for live news and music. The easy to use email client meanwhile integrates all of your email accounts (form multiple providers) into one view with colour-coding to see which account each email is from. This makes it simple to view and reply to emails while on the move, in addition to the messaging capabilities offered.
