The HTC Desire boasts a vivid and sharp 3.7 inch touch display

The HTC Desire has a vivid and sharp 3.7 inch touch display making it great when playing games, taking photos, making movies and browsing the Web. It has a 5 megapixel camera and runs the Android 2.1 Eclair operating system which is capable of running multiple applications at once.

The handset has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor allowing you to quickly move around from one application to the next, and powering through webpages when browsing the internet. The intuitive Sense interface is controllable through the large touch sensitive display with pinch to zoom capability which allows you to pinch to view all of the seven home screens you have and switch between them, and the different widgets and shortcuts on each one to check the weather, latest Facebook updates form friends or emails.

The Desire features a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash with face detection software and widescreen photo capture. Video recording is also possible up to the labile memory, which can be as much as 32 gigabytes with the microSD card slot featured. Both images and videos have automatic location tagging (Geotagging) also, part of the location based features due to the handsets internal GPS antenna. The GPS also offers step-by-step navigation with the preloaded Footprints application, as well as directions and exploration through the Google Maps app, also preinstalled.

Connectivity includes a microUSB connector for syncing to a computer, along with sharing the internet connection (internet tethering). Additionally, there is bluetooth 2.1 with enhanced data rate (EDR) for fast file sharing at close proximity. Profiles include File Transfer and Object Push protocols (FTP and OPP respectively), along with the A2DP profile for wireless stereo headsets to be used for audio playback in place of the 3.5mm audio jack connector also featured on the handset.

Social networking is made easy with the phone, as it comes preloaded with integrated Facebook, Twitter and Peep from HTC, also for Twitter users. The Friend Stream also shows all your contacts clearly with any new status updates on social networks, as they occur, making it easier than ever to stay up-to-date. Photo sharing is also possible on Facebook, Flickr and Twitter, while videos can be instantly shared on YouTube respectively.

The HTC Desire is a powerful and compact device offering an intuitive touch user interface in Sense, along with the force of the Android operating system which are aided by the impressive hardware to run seamlessly.
