The sweet little HTC HD Mini boasts some potent Smartphone technology; it has an impressive 3.2inch capacitive touch screen and utilises the Windows Mobile 6.5 professional operating system with an HTC Sense overlay. The 600MHz CPU boosts the HD Mini's intuitive web browser and multimedia centre for a superior experience, there is a 5 mega pixel digital camera, FM Radio and enhanced Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity as standard and the user interface supports dedicated social network features.

The general appearance of the phone is very pleasing, its tiny size (103.8 x 57.7 x 11.7mm) and lightweight chassis (110grams) make for comfortable handling and considering its size HTC have managed to spread a 3.2 inch HVGA touch screen over the top; the display is bright and clear in most lighting conditions and it is incredibly responsive. Another feature the intelligent UI brings is HTC Peep; acting as a dedicated Twitter client it is a handy tool for making tweets and receiving updates from your keen followers. The HD Mini also has applications for Facebook and YouTube along with a dedicate application for full Twitter management. HTC have made sure they meet the demands of there target audience, with the HD Mini they have young people in mind, people who juggle busy social schedules with work or education, the Facebook generation!

As with other Windows Mobiles this phone is well serviced with Microsoft software, the media player included. The Windows Media player can playback a host of different audio and video formats with mp3, mp4, m4v,avi and wma in the collection, the media players interface is easy to use the video/music player is easy to control and all of your tunes can be organized into various categories like artist or genre.

The device has premium web capabilities with full Wi Fi connectivity and 3G technology, HTC have pre-loaded the Opera browser as standard, overall the browser controls are uncomplicated, the browser enables multi touch control which adds to the good experience and if you use the secondary browser (Internet Explorer) you have the resources to support Flash. Along with the phones basic messaging functions HTC have given the HD Mini a dedicated e-mail client, using the Active Synch you can receive e-mails straight to your phone as soon as they hit your online inbox, all of your e-mails are displayed to look like sheets of paper and the client threads you e-mails in a nice stack for quick viewing, the pages can be simply swiped from the screen to reveal the one beneath it.

In all the HTC HD Mini is a focused compact Smartphone, it shows off a huge screen when you consider its size and the Sense UI has been well sized to fit this smaller model. The camera is supported by auto focus and widescreen capture and manages to record video at a good frame rate. The phone has a fully functional media centre and the memory can be upgraded via the microSD slot up to 32GB. The HTC HD Mini has tons of potential and it offers much to be excited about!
