The Heritage of the Philadelphia Phillies

Since their earliest days, the Philadelphia Phillies have had a checkered history, undeniably considered underdogs of the MLB. They have long fought to win in championships for their entire MLB time, such as in 1993 against the Braves and the Blue Jays. They have had a lot of star players, but their continued place has been that of a fairly mediocre team. They now play in red, white, and blue colored jerseys, indicating a strong spirit for the country and one of its favored sports: baseball.

In addition to Joe Carter and Roy Halladay, the team has seen a lot of really good players over the years. Halladay recently assisted the team in a great win against the Marlins - in May of 2010. Halladay pitched a totally perfect game during this time. The team has been able to acquire MVP awards and players over the years as well including one for player Cole Hamels. The team has a marker showcasing their former playing field, Veterans Stadium.

Even though the team cannot really be considered a top MLB team, it is still fairly successful. While the Phillies have often played against more skilled teams, they have still made it to the world series more than a few times. In addition, they have a rivalry with the Mets that has persisted for a long time, and which has been a way for the two teams to compete in a fun way, with good sportsmanship - and a way to stir up their fans.

The Philadelphia Phillies started out very young, over 50 years ago. Since their earliest days they have seen the victory of several pennants, and have continued to play well even under pressure. While not making it to some of the top positions of MLB teams, their success has been more in the form of good players - many of whom have been traded to other teams.

While a team cannot be decided upon just by the games its won, the Phillies are no different. In many cases the Phillies have proven their spirit by managing to get through many stadium switches, and undergoing changes of their team coaches - which is always a difficult thing for any team.

The Phillies have really proven themselves capable of playing good games over several years. They haven't been able to make it to the top of the MLB rankings for their division but they have still been a good team for all their years. They will continue to build fans, and many of their fans are loyal to the Phillies alone.

Without doubt, the Phillies will stay one of the most important teams in MLB history due to their ability to stay a good team even when faced with the trials of changing coaches and stadiums quite often. They will continue to have numerous fans, as well.

Some of the fans have risen in anger about the teams jerseys but the team is sticking with its current design. If this will stay, only time can tell. Their jersey design is very much an individualized team choice, so it can never be said whether it will change or not.
