Hockey Art - A new collection of 6 collector giclees called " The History of Hockey Collection"

, by James Lumbers deal with the traditions and history of hockey players and followers that have developed into such an essential part of our society. The concentration is not just on the eminent stars of the game, but rather what motivates us to comprehend and learn about teamwork while instilling the idea that one day, given the determination, a few might turn into the next Wayne Gretzky or Sidney Crosby.

James Lumbers has produced 5 of 6 limited edition giclees in "The History of Hockey Collection." The 5 collector giclees are named "Where Dreams Are Born", "The Hockey Scout", "The Goalie Mask", "Satruday Night Hockey" and the latest release "The Olympic Gold".

Canadian painter James Lumbers is highly recognized as a famous and respected artist not only in Canada but across the world.Lumbers nostalgic collector giclees of Canada's past, provacative portraits, wilderness lanscapes and his prominent ghost collector prints of the past and present can be found in private fine art and giclee collections around the world. Born in Toronto in 1929, and a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, James Lumbers worked an expedition in the northern part of Canada. The occurrence changed his life. Lumbers has build a reputation and a fan base for his "moments in time collections", depending on ghost metaphors, Lumbers intrically blends images of the past into renditions of the present to create master pieces that prevoke the imagination of simpler times long gone. Canada, the United States and the UK have been places that Lumbers has made many TV, radio and exhibition appearances. Internationally renowned as a painter for his ghosting effect which began on a summer afternoon in 1976, we are all familiar with the impactful mementos his impactful paintings have on our minds.

Art collectors and lovers around the world have valued and admired James Lumbers talent to develop a strong sense of history depicted in much of his collector prints. Lumbers says: "We are products of our memories and traditions. We must fight in our own way to preserve what we have."

"Some years ago when doing research for a painting of Wayne Gretzky, his father Walter showed me where Wayne took his first steps on a rink in their backyard. There was no acclaim at that time, just a little boy who loved to skate. The same was true for Gordie Howe as I discovered when doing research for his portrait. Their greatness and that of others came through love and devotion for the game." said James Lumbers a number of years ago.

The notion of doing a collection of six hockey collector giclees representing young people and their NHL & olympic hockey dreams was motivated by these experiences; to play for teams like Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit red Wings, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Canada's olympic hockey team. Lumbers believe that we all should be reminded now and then that things are achievable if you put enough energy into anything!

At a point in time when ever-increasing rivalry is reaching for consumer's cash, "The History of Hockey Collection" signed & numbered giclees are in soaring demand. This compilation can seen and bought at miroarts.com and at exclusive art galleries. Some of these signed & numbered hockey prints are sold out and can only acquired in the secondary art marketplace. James Lumbers has produced five of the compilation of six and will be launching the final collector giclee in 2013.

"The Olympic Gold" is the fifth and most recent painting from the 'The History of Hockey Collection'' by James Lumbers . This latest collector print recaptures Sidney Crosby's Olympic Goal for team Canada against team USA.
