Queen Anne was born February 6, 1665, at the St

. James Palace in London. She was the second daughter to the Duke of York, James. Born to her mother, Lady Anne Hyde. Anne was the youngest of two children, with her older sister, the future Queen Marry II.

When Anne was a small child, she suffered from a terrible infection of the eye. This prompted Anne's move to France, where she would live with Henriette Maria of France, her grandmother, for medical treatment. When Anne's grandmother passed in 1669, she moved in with the Duchess of Orleans, Henriette Anne, her aunt. Then in 1670, Anne was sent back to England after her aunt passed away.

In 1702, Anne became the Queen of England. She was also Queen of Scotland and Ireland as well. Her sister and brother in law became Monarchs. Then Anne's sister Mary II died in 1694, and her Brother in law William III & II dies in 1702. Thus, Anne taking her place as Queen. 5 years later, in 1707, England and Scotland became a single sovereign state, under the Acts of Union. Forming the Kingdom of Great Britain. With Anne as Queen when this took place, this made her their first sovereign, all while she still held separate crowns as Queen of France and the Queen of Ireland.

Queen Anne was considered to be the last Queen of Scotland and Queen of England. Queen Anne was also the last British sovereign that held her Royalty from a bill. Her reign marked a time in decreasing the influence with the Crown and yet increasing influence of ministers, thus shifting power from Crown to ministry. Where it was, the Prime Minister was born.

On August 1, 1714, Queen Anne died of gout. It was rumored that a square coffin was built for her, due to how large and swollen her body became. She was laid to rest at the South Aisle of Westminster Abbey, at the remarkable Henry VII chapel.

They say Queen Anne era, was that of literary and artistic advancements. Writers flourished and architecture was developed into some of the most historical Castles and Palaces during her reign. The Statute of Anne was passed in 1709, known as the world's very first copyright law. This gave the exclusive and proper rights to authors and their writings, not to the printer or those who printed them. Her influence in history, is one not to be forgotten.
