Silk has been one of the most cherished and elite fabrics since forever

. It has been used for main clothes such as blouses and pants as well as for accessories such as scarves, gloves and socks. Silk has been used as a material for traditional clothes and has served also for modern-day suits. The threads bring class and high-quality to every product they have been used for. It is one of the most adequate materials for a formalwear as well as for traditional wear based on historical events or facts. Within time this has proved to be the best choice for any man, no matter the age or build. It adds an extra gentleness or even royalty to every piece of clothing without making it feel uncomfortable for the wearer as well as for the people around him.

Silk is natural protein fibre that can be woven into textiles of the highest quality. This protein is most often obtained from the cocoons of the mulberry silkworm, although there are many other insects that can produce it. In ancient times, different caterpillars have also been used in China, South Asia and Europe. The history of silk is very tight to the history of China. Actually, with evidences showing examples of silk-like clothes from as early as 3,500BC, there is no doubt that it all began exactly in the most populated country in the world. There are many theories and legends about how silk came to be. Some of them are connected with noted Chinese emperors and empresses, other s with magic and mythology. Since the beginning until now many changes had happened to this entirely natural product. First, it has developed as a material not only for females, but also for men. Usually, when a man wears silk they are seen as handsome, stylish and educated. When silk began to travel, many new cultures and styles were added up to the many uses of the fabric. This is why the Silk Road is so important - it has brought forth the Chinese culture and civilization to these of Thailand, India, the Middle East and even the Americas.

The Silk Road is a story that has been told and retold for centuries. It is unique, mesmerizing and also delicate history of the path that a special fabric took in order to become as widespread and acknowledged as it is today. However, it is not just the road that marketers used in order to reach the west (back at the time the European continent was still considered as the West), but also a path that crosses almost all Chinese provinces and passes through a great number of important historical and cultural sites. Its start was in the town of Xian (better known as the home of the Terra Cotta warriors nowadays) and reached to the very city of Rome.

Even now, the Silk Road is one of the most amazing routes to take if you are interested in tourism, traditions or cultures. It has been changed throughout the process of modernization of the civilizations, but as a whole you can still sense the wind the silk traders sensed and taste the sandy air that has once brushed against the silk goods. It is also a great example of how fashion, history and tradition are all connected through a beautiful silky line.
