Once talk about jeans, people would associate it with the gold rush in America in 1849. At that time, as the first group of immigrates set their foot on this continent; they had nothing, so they needed to work very hard to support their lives. Strong work made their clothes broken easily, especially those miners in California. Under this circumstance, labors felt an urgent need to have a durable one to wear, and then jeans emerged at the right moment.

Levi Strauss was universally acknowledged as the inventor of jeans. In the year of 1850, jeans produced from Levi's company were regarded as the earliest jeans in the history. In the middle of 1930s, people in the Middle West agriculture area almost everyone wore jeans, then this trade were brought to cities of the eastern area of the Mississippi. Since then, jeans have begun to be regarded as the fashion clothing by people.

During the period of the World War Two, jeans were appointed as army's uniform by the US government, and a multitude of jeans were transported to Europe along with the Allied Forces. After the war, large amount of jeans were sold in the locality, because of its practical, durable and low price, jeans was welcomed there. As a result, some manufacturers in the local of Europe began to produce this kind of clothing. The movie and television industry in Hollywood also played an important role on bringing the international fashion of jeans. During that period, almost all leading roles of famous movies wore jeans. Under the influence of those big movie stars, jeans became the sign of fashion at that time.

In people's minds, the classic jeans should the one with cyaneus color, pure cotton damask, tight buttocks, out pocket and so on. However, the earliest jeans do not like the one we see nowadays. At first, the jeans did not have back pocket and the color was gray. In the 1873, the color changed to blue and then the jean legs changed from loose one to tight one

To sum up, as time goes on, jeans changed a lot, it has already begun one of the most important accessories of fashionable young people.
