The History of Photography

Even as wildly popular as it was, Daguerreotypes were still very limited

. Expensive to produce, the images that resulted were impossible to duplicate. Eventually, Calotype photography was created to overcome these issues in Daguerreotypes. Calotype photography was invented by William Fox Talbot, who also invented the first negative in 1835. He worked continually to improve his process and by 1844 he went so far as to use it to publish a photo book which had the effect of changing the history of photography forever, birthing the modern photography that we know today.
