The very next year, kerosene is distilled from the crude. The very next year after that lamp oil is being distilled/produced in LA, California. Europe sees its first jobs on oil wells 30 50 meters deep in 1854; while in California, natural gas jobs are developing from the detection of the same in water well.

In 1857, '58 and '59, All Is Well

Finally, Ontario, Canada and the United States of America are utilizing a steady flow of oil workers on wells as deep as 69 feet down into the depths of the earth. From its crown block all the way down to its drill bit, the oil rig is an intricate yet robust form of technical ingenuity; springing from a bamboo stick with its own bit on the end.
