The HTC Desire has an advanced 5 megapixel camera with face detection capability

, auto focus and flash mad widescreen photo capture. Photos can then be viewed back on the 3.7 inch AMOLED touch sensitive screen with pinch-to-zoom technology. The handset with Android operating system and HTC Sense also includes many widgets for social networking and staying in touch.

The phone has a read-only memory of 512 megabytes and a microSD memory card slot which is capable of providing up to 32 gigabytes of storage memory for widgets, music, photos, videos and more. Meanwhile, the handset running the Android 2..1 (Eclair) operating system, enhanced with HTC Sense from the manufacturer has a very powerful 1 gigahertz processor and 576 megabytes of random access memory (RAM) to seamlessly run multiple applications and features on the phone.

The Desire has an internal GPS antenna and digital compass, and includes the HTC Footprints application which provides turn by turn navigation to the user, along with landmarks and local features, alongside Google Maps. Another impressive location based feature included on this handset is automatic geotagging of photos and videos taken with the powerful camera included.

The handset, like all from HTC, is heavily optimised for social networking wit the Friend Stream application which collates all contacts into one screen view with their name, number, photo and latest social networking updates (Facebook status and Twitter tweet respectively). It also has Facebook integration, and HTC Peep to make twittering easier than ever for the user. Photos can be shared instantly with friends on social networks including Facebook, Twitter and Flickr; as can videos on YouTube.

Photos and videos can be viewed back on a Photos application, and the Music application sorts tracks and albums ready for the user to enjoy back which can be done with headphones trough the audio jack connection, or through a wireless headset due to the A2DP stereo support from the Bluetooth 2.1 with enhanced data rate featured. Additionally, the user can enjoy live music due to the integrated FM radio. All major audio and video file formats are supported by the phones operating system.

The HTC Desire is an impressive handset featuring a large, advanced touch screen, and a great 5 megapixel camera with a good range of features such as geotagging and widescreen photo capture. The phone is able to perform multiple tasks with great ease due to its very powerful 1 gigahertz processor and substantially high random access memory, while also providing plenty of storage memory for multimedia to be enjoyed bak through the preinstalled applications and widgets, while still offering further widgets to be added via download by the user to further enhance their phones capabilities.
